bikeybike insurance usually run for a 20 y/o?

For a Ninja 500R. Or any other typical starter bike.

Inquiring minds want to know. h:

Are you paying cash for the bike or taking out a loan? I highly recommend you get the cheapest bike possible, one that you don't care about. Pay cash and get cheap insurance!

Liability insurance is really cheap.
$180 a year for me.

Full coverage is expensive
$1100 a year for the same bike.

I'm 22 with a speeding ticket. My bike is a 91 katana (old and cheap). That is with Drive insurance from Progressive.

Cash for sure. I would not go with a new bike for a first bike.

Can I just get insured for 6 months? That's about the length of the driving season here.

Probably. It just depends on the insurance agency.

I'm not positive on that one. Probably depends on the rate's.

Because mine was so cheap, they required a yearly purchase. Anything over a certain amount (I believe it was $750 per year) could be 6 months, or month to month.

Call them and check. Get some info on cycletrader.com and call progressive for a quote. They should be able to tell you everything prior to the purchase.

Do NOT use Allstate. Their motorcycle insurance is the same as car insurance.
