Default suggestions? help?

my grandmother owns a grand marquis and like most grand marquis it has fallen apart.

recently the car seems to die after it starts, it won't hold idle on it's own... i'm looking for suggestions on what i could try to look at, my best guesses so far are:

IAC
bad injectors
or something electrical as that always seems to be a problem.

are there any specifics i should try to look at?

If it starts but bogs and cuts off.....check dizzy, plugs, vac leaks, ummm.....I dunno what else cuz i'm not familiar with mercury.

Edit: check the battery too just to make sure. What year is it?
