its about $150 difference and the only thing id be missing seems like the image stabilization and another megapixel from the 800. if im just a casual point-and-shoot type of guy, would getting the SD 600 be good enough? or should i ante up and get the 800 IS? thanks, dood

 

Take some pictures with both, blow them up to full screen and see which ones you like best. The store should have a comp and monitor that you can use.

 

The SD600 is a bit more compact. The IS will be a huge benefit if you're going to be using this camera for social shots indoors like at bars or whatever. The extra megapixel is of little or no importance.

 

800is.

I was choosing between the 600 and the 700is, I paid more for the 700is but it has exceeded my expectations.
People couldn't believe some of the pictures that came out were from a dinky P&S.

i just bought the sd630 today. same as the 600 but it has a 3 inch screen, i just took a few pics messing around and its nuts.

just ordered my SD 800 IS w/ a 1GB card for $370 shipped. not bad i suppose. retail price for the camera alone was $400. :dunno:

 

nice, i got mine for 263.99 and a 2g card for 30 bucks. because of black friday sales.

 

newegg has a nice special on the sd600... $210 w/ a free 2gb SD card and free 3 day shipping. buy the 600 and use the rest of your loot to take your girl out somewhere nice
