Asians don't have specific considerations. Supposedly even though we are minorities we are over represented in school. If you give someone a leg up you give someone else a leg down. To advantage someone you must disadvantage someone else.
They're moreso proving a point. I think a scholarship based on race is ridiculous. Prove yourself through academics, not the color of your skin...I don't care what the statistics say.

"pygmy in the classroom" It's more difficult for somebody that's perceptually incompetent to succeed in academia than it is for somebody that is seen as gifted. This doesn't even have to be in ability--it can be the clothes the student wears or the color of their skin.
However, instead of do something about it, America wants to blame minorities for inspiring "guilt" into the rest of America so that they will provide them a "handicap." The reality is that these scholarships provide kids that are prone to becoming delinquent because there is no attainable alternative with the hope that they can be successful.
My mom used to say, "Don't be concerned if somebody else is gaining unless you aren't losing." Whites aren't losing out. They have every opportunity available to them.

Exactly. The school I went to was 46% Asian, 39% White. This was pretty much the same pattern at all the UC campuses from Davis to San Diego. Last I checked, Asians made a whopping 7% of California. Where's the outrage at Asian-only scholarships?
If these people want to make a real argument for affirmative action, make it economic based, not race based. Don't expect me to feel that a spoiled rich minority kid with mediocre grades deserves preferential treatment over an academically gifted, poor white kid just because most minority kids aren't so lucky.
/not white
//would start a white student union if it would demonstrate to the nation what complete asshats these people are
And you're suggesting that a black kid does not have to work as hard as a white kid to attain the same goals?
To a certain degree that is true :dunno: Not just the black community, but hispanic, and maybe even some asian. You can't possibly think that some of the incentives some schools and even companies offer are there just to be there? To me, it's there to cover there ass from a lawsuit....
