Yet another hobby. h:
I ordered my Smart Parts Ion yesterday, complete with Evultion II electronic loader, 48ci 3000psi Nitro Tank, and a bunch of extras. I've got some friends getting into it as well and we're planning on playing this Sunday.
My coworker has been trying to get me back into it for a long time also. So I've got plenty of people to play with.

Yea. The Ion isn't that expensive in my opinion. From what I've read and heard it's definitely the best bang for the buck. There are so many hop up's available and its a very reliable, fast, and effective gun.
My coworker has an Angel that he paid well over $1000 for...I'm not that crazy.

I used to play tournament on Spyder Compact aluminums with 18" barrels, remote tank, power hopper, Bob Long bolt and custom trigger guard with two finger trigger (before you could buy them). worked fine and we placed second in our division.
Unfortunatley it won't hold to todays standards for comp play since now it is all about speedball games and how much paint you can toss instead of any real tactical skill

The professionals have a lot of skill, John. I know you may not of been talking about them in particular, but they just don't toss paint. It's amazing how accurate they are with those things.

Not saying they don't have skills I am saying the skills used in tournament play are no longer as reliant on skill as they are on gun speed and paint slinging. sorry but speedball is not a high skill game.
