Default Cingular website to send text messages?

A friend of mine is stuck visiting with his family for his sister's birthday. He requested that I send periodic football update text messages to him. It'd be quicker to do so from my computer than the stupid numeric keypad on my phone. I found the sections on the Verizon and T-Mobile websites for sending text to phones on those networks. Can't find it on Cingular's site though, and this person has a Cingular phone. Any ideas?

Cingular recently upgraded their site and has removed the option of being able to send text messages. I think it was because this feature was abused and they were supposedly 'losing money'.

But isn't there a way to send text messages via google?

Cingular has something like that, I forget what exactly you have to do with it.

The games are over though so problem solved. I just used that google extension thing and sent texts that way.

for tmobile you can put someone's phone number into your aim window and just type out your message. goes something like this

+1(areacode)(number)
no spaces or dashes or parentheses and then type the message in the message window.

I think it's the same for Cingular users (I have a friend that sends me messages via AIM).
