Does the drive actually have an assigned letter when it's hooked up? Ex. "D:\" ? Or does it simply show up as an "External Mass Storage Device" ?
There must be an option somewhere to tell windows to automatically connect to this device.
windows connects to pre-connected stuff automatically on boot.
check the support on WD's site.... there may be firmware updates :dunno:
you can always buy a new enclosure :dunno:
or you can just deal with it :dunno:
But it works when I replug. Considering its not in an enclosure... I dont see how the enclosure would allow it to start on boot if its not doing it outside of the enclosure.

It has a letter when I replug it in. And I cant find that option!

Yeah I got nothing.. I guess I might have to be lazy.
You said its an external hard drive. Thats an enclosure... Unless the hard drive is just sitting out in the open with a wire going into the computer, its in an enclosure.
