Default Quick question for those who have cable internet and TV.

So I am new to this whole cable TV thing. Lets say I have a room with one of those cable jacks. Currently that jack is used for a modem for cable internet. There is another jack in the living room that is used for cable TV. Is there anyway, I can get cable TV inside the room too? Is it as simple as using a cable jack splitter or something? Thanks h:

split to your cable modem as close to the source as you can, that will give you the best download rates and such
then split to the tv however you like
at least that is supossed to make a difference anyway

I believe you want a special device called a splitter to aid your situation.

doesnt matter how close or where the splitter is placed.
Just be certain to buy some SCREW ON F-connectors. Dont buy the ones you crimp together. I needed to run some cable lines in my new apartment and I fuk'd up the connectors because I had to crimp them. The cable man gave me a bag of connectors that are twist on.

I have about a 15 foot wire running along side the bottom edge of my wall. I then have a splitter connected to it. One end is going to my living room TV. cable is about 10 feet long.
The other cable is going into my bedroom which is probably like 20 feet long.

Ohh btw...if you gotta by Coax cable to run these lines, I suggest maybe looking at eBay. I bought a 50 foot roll from radio shack for about 70 bucks.
That same roll on eBay would of cost me 10 bucks plus 10 dollars shipping.
