Default Router keeps resetting itself

Okay, my roommate and I bought a Linksys wired router tonight from Best Buy. Installed it correctly, however, the router will disconnect from my computer and then reconnect.

Any reason? Fix?

Weird. Try a hard reset. Most routers have a tiny hole that you can put a paperclip or such in it to do a hard reset. Each router is also different so you may want to break out the manual prior to.

reset it and then run it on a different channel... interference with other devices on the same freq. can cause this.

Make sure the DHCP has enough IP adresses for all the computer you use x20 or so, make sure the wireless phone/ PS2 controller you use is not on the same band as your wireless network... Does it work like it is supposed to when it is connected?

This is NOT a wireless router.

BTW. I have the BEFSR41 v4.1 and tried to update the specific firmware, but the router resets itself before it can accept it.
