Make sure you stabalize your saline at 0.23 parts per million.

For the ammonia: Either dump in some cheap fish to get it dirty, or just dump in ammonia (best for saltwater). You need to build up bacteria in the tank. Personally, i would just dump some common ammonia in there, and let it run for a couple weeks.

That is how you cycle your tank. If you don't do it, not a single specimin will survive.

Dump ammonia..........then do 20% water changes weekly.

Do not, for any reason put ANY fish AT ALL in that tank until you have cycled it for at least 3 weeks. Well, that is unless you want to dump a shit-load of money on fish you will just have to throw away after two day's in that tank withouth the correct biological bacteria.

well, i bought 45 gallons of pre-made water from the place, but they told me to wait a week or so to make sure all the levels stabilized from the gravel & decorations before adding any fish....that & i about shot my budget this check on what i got now

wagers on thread popping up in 2 weeks wondering why fish are all dead for?

no offense man, but too many people get into salt water tanks without really knowing what they are getting into.

But have fun and you need to wait at least 3 weeks if not a month for some tanks to be stable enough for fish.
