Need Help On An Automotive Paper
For my assignment for engine principles and design i have to basically design a shortblock.
My company is XY and i'm on a short budget. This engine is going to be put into a sport compact car. However if my company is like honda and already has pre existing equipment to make the engine better like VTEC or something like that i can use it and then it won't be spending extra money.... make sense?
I basically have to decide like if i want the block to be cast aluminum or iron. I want to go with a cast aluminum block not only because it would seem more fuel efficient and light weight but it just seems you see aluminum more often. I know aluminum expands more after heat but i think i'd like to stick with it.
As for pistons and rods i'm not sure how to do that. Like piston head size and what material. And good websites that i could use. I know howstuffworks.com is a good one but any others. Or if your experienced with this could you maybe throw your two cents in.
This thing isn't do for another week so i have time to do some research but i'm sure you guys could help out knowing more about engine materials than me. Thanks

yea but this has to be a document though. If it were a powerpoint this would be way easier for me. Not saying i can't type a paper but i'm better at visual presentations.
