Default GTI VR6 Turbo question

Hey guys,

Im a bit sad because I think my turbo has gone to heaven.
Last night I was driving with my brother and his friends ( 5 cars in total )
As I was approaching to shift into 4th gear ( around 113mph ) I started to hear this hissing and my boost gauge just started to go down.

Long story short if I apply full throttle the vaccum only goes up to like 9psi vs 13- 15psi. It feels like the engine isnt getting enough air or I may have a leak somewhere. I really dont know where to begin because I looked at the piping and the hoses and they all seemed fine.

Are there any troubleshooting steps to determine if there is a leak in one of the lines?
I was thinking of revving the engine and spraying a light mist of water ( using spray bottle ) around the lines to see if its near there.

the turbo sits in the back of the engine by the firewall so its not that easy for me to get to.

ill appreciate any ideas.
I feel like I lost my arm .

Your wastegate and bov are probably fucked from sustained pressure in the system due to you running at boost for extended periods of time.

Don't lie and say you don't because noting your comment about slowing down to 113 while putting it into 4th gear proves that you have done exactly what I am stating.

I'm guessing it's something wrong with the wastegate if you're still getting 9psi.
