But when I ran my 1.5 it was Jan 2nd in Syracuse NY. I froze my ass off and had to run on the street since the sidewalks werent plowed. I had maybe 5 cars splash me with slush in my legs as I ran.

I still made 10:xx. And I hadnt run in weeks.

ok, in those extreme conditions, then yes, either running indoors or finding an alternative means would be understandable, but for the most part, this is ridiculous

You will never see this in the Marine Corps. We ran 3 miles for our quarterly test, but 5 miles every other day to prepare for it. Any weather conditions, partial dirt, partial asphault course.

Fuck that, that is a bitch excuse. Do you think the enemy in any case is going to stop and say, "Oh it is cold rainy and slushy out so I will give you a break and not make you run"??? No way that fucker is going to level his gun and plug you in the back of the head if you can't make cover.

There are no breaks in the military, either you pass PT as specified under the available conditions or you keep training until you can. Training is the easy part and when you get out there in the field you will understand why it is the easy part.

Thats why alot of people are opposed to the new slack systems the military is adopting. Less training now means greater chance for trouble later.

Yeah and I agree. I mean if the guy next to me calls for suppressive fire and because his slacker ass takes two clips to run across to the next cover it may mean my having to reload is the cause of his death.

Not something I want on my mind on top of having to deal with everything else going on.

Exactly. Thats why we tried to push the recruits out who couldnt hit the targets to save their life. Literally. I'd rather be next to someone with will hit the enemy 9/10 times, insted of 3/10.
