Default Camera Crew v.savingupfornewcamera

hey doods,

thinkin about droppin around $300-$400 on a new digicam. i bought an olympus verve beginning of my senior yr in college but that cameras annoying the crap out of me. not the best, i know.

so im thinkin about pickin up a new one by new years. any suggestions? im not a huge photographer, so i dont want anything shmancy. just awesome, clear shots while being easy enough for a newb to use. i dont even know what SLR means :hsdunno:

any tips or ideas are appreciated. thanks, guys

This one's a little more than what you want to pay, but you can't go wrong with a Powershot.

G7

I'm in the market for a replacement SLR myself. Possibly a Nikon D200 or a D80 with some nice glass.

You've identified a couple criteria namely price and idiot-proof good pictures most of the time.

Couple other questions can help narrow it down:

- What size are you looking for? Pocket sized like a pack of cigs, regular compact, or kinda clunky?
- Are you lookin to learn more about photography and have a camera that you can grow into?
