question about wireless connection and stealling bandwidth

I am wondering, if I pickup someone elses signal like linksys-g, can the person see what I am doing and that I am connected to them? Also, can they hack into my computer?

its good to have a firewall up, and avoid sending sensitive data over non secured connections (https://)

yea, jsut make sure you have a firewall, sharing off, and don't have the same workgroup id as them and it will be fine. if your neighbor was smart, he would have a security key like i have on my wireless network
