A Leupold will be a HUGE chunk of your budget. Do you know at what distance you are shooting from?

How good are you at shooting?

You probably can do fine with a 3x9 or something.

well i have shot a lot at the range but never shot anything other then dove with a shotgun i am pretty accurate with the 30-30 at the range i am usually within half an inch from 200 yards and i am not worried about buying an expensive scope

that 700 dollar budget u spoke of, does that include the scope? cuz if so good luck my man on getting a leopauld. they are a beautiful scope for a beautifully high price.

if your max range is 300 yds a 3-9 is def sufficient. i shoot in 6x at all ranges wether 50 yds or 300. hell i started out with a 4x scope. those higher powers can be nice but not necessary. just get lots of practice

anywhere in the .30 range for caliber and you should be O.K. Savage bolt action will do nicely.

Your scope will probably cost more than the rifle in that price range

Savage rifles are great. Check out Burris scopes, they're very good for the money. 3-9 should be plenty at those ranges.

For buffalo.. while I've never gone hunting for one, I've seen how big they are. I would think you'd need something in the realm of a .300 win mag or maybe any of them 7mm magnums? For the other two, I'm guessing a .308 or .30-06 should be fine. Anyway, try a Savage. I have two of them myself(one in .223 and in .308). Great rifles for the money. If you wanna be baller, try a Remington M24 :boink: And man, you want a Leupold?! They're great scopes but that's a lot of $$$$. Take a look at the Bushnell Elite 3200 or 4200. I have a 3200 on my .308. Not too expensive. Mine cost around 270.
