my guess would be the dimmer switch like john said or the door jamb switch but u said u checked those so dimmer. and rough guess on a 96 intrepid, expect to spend about 150 bucks so double check before u buy one. and if u wonder how i got this price i just checked my warehouse inventory on that part...and thats what they suggest for user pricing

Stupid questions, but have you tried to turn down the dimmer switch? My mom used to have a '96 Town & Country had a dimmer wheel on the dash next to the headlight switch. There were two click stops at the top of the dimmer switch, I remember one of em was to turn all the interior lights.
