yeh, i know i was talking about 2 different things, but in my scenario, i will have a US DVD with a US DVD player, on a a Japanese TV, so regional coding is a non-issue. i'll check out that site though, thanks.
DVD regional coding and analog broadcast formats are different issues. So, not only does your DVD's broadcast format have to match your equipment (NTSC, for instance) but your DVD player has to be able to play DVD's from that region.
Most likely, a US bought DVD player, even though it is NTSC, will not be able to play a Japanese DVD (since Japan is in Region 2, US is Region 1).
