people just need more exposure to different possibilities instead of rushing into whatever is popular at the time, like lame fashion trends

Don't you think there is a reason for that? Those who attended a vocational school usually get a good idea. Those of us who went to the standard academic school get absolutely no direction or even guidance of a future career.

Sure, you have guidance counselors but all they can really say to you is, "either go to college, join the military, or work around here"
we had a very large technology, engineering department (put on by RIT) in my high school. that certainly pointed me in the right direction. a majority of my friends from school took at least 10 engineering classes and we are all either going to some engineering field or computer related field.

The only "exposure" I had in high school was through certain classes: CAD I/II, Computer Programming I/II and that was it. The other classes were just course material that basically prepped you for college courses.

Oh yea, in 9th grade we did take those occupational assessment surveys...useless.

Ok. I am not going to mention it again.

Most enlisted first officers are 100x better than regular officers.

Just hope you make it without killing yourself, honestly.

The only guidance schools give kids these days is "go to college". I've seen so many people with worthless degrees, it's sad. All they focus on is pumping out the graduates. Kids are getting no guidance and school and even worse none at home because thier parents are too busy for them.

I had everything planned out in High School, but when I got out into the actual working force, my plans changed.
