Car-fi is Best Buy talk for Car Audio (car-fi is short for car fidelity).
I've been with Best Buy since June of 1995. Great company. I started out on the retail end like most of you, then I got my electronics degree and since 1998 I've been working at the regional service center.
If you give the company a chance and work hard, you will be rewarded. Trust me. I started making $5.75/hr out of high school, when the stock was worth about $8.00/share..... it was so cheap, even I could actually afford it then.
Eleven years and four splits later, it's worth $53.50 (last I checked yesterday), paying dividends, the company is opening stores in China and Europe, and I make more money than some people I know with a 4 year bachelors degree.
Moral of the story: be patient and work hard. Once you work through some BS that, quite frankly, every company has at entry levels, if you keep with it you will be glad you did. If you learn everything about the sales end you possibly can, keep a positive attitude, perform at or above expectations, you will move up and into very lucrative positions.

I am back.
Wow. I was kicking the shit out of the questions at the beginning. Then the GM came out and asked me some questions. His first question?
"What makes Steven Steven?"
WTF? I mumbled some crap. I do not think he was very impressed. I pulled it back up at the end, but still...
He said he will call after the job fair on Thursday if they decide to hire me. I am nervous.
Oh, and thanks for the info fastball. I really wanted this job because I know that if I apply myself, I will move up. My previous jobs completely lacked this.
I reeeeeally want this job.

Wait, are you Steven?
I never got that question. Did they offer you a job in the interview?? I got offered while I was still in the room. They normally will call after the interview if it's a Job Fair deal. Keep your hopes up, your already past the hard part.
