Default clutch going?

how do you know when a cable clutch is wearing out..cuz you can always ajust it...when a hydrolic clutch satrts to wear in tends to grab higher and higher....am i correct...

i dont belive so..ive never felt a clutch thats slipping..but when it in gear foot off the brake an the clutch sort of grabbing(the car moves foward) slowing but it does,...it kind of feels liek its spinning fast...if i brought it to a mechanic should he be able to feel it goiung with out actually takiung it all apart??

are you try that in 1st or 2nd?
try it in 2nd, also when a clutch slips your rpms go up on your tach but your speed doesnt increase

ill try it in second wheni get out of work...if it takes off in 2nd that means that its still in decent condition?

4th gear start tells you a general idea of the condition of your clutch. Also drive up a hill in 2nd with low revs and floor it.

Basically if your clutch is on its way out, it just simply won't grab when you try accelerate and its like you're driving on ice.

For cable your are correct there should be an adjustment nut or mechanisim to adjust it. For hydraulic I'd first check to see if there is any visible dirt or grease below your slave, master cylinder, and on your firewall inside the car. If visibly you don't see any caked dirt or fresh leaking fluid it'd be leaking inside your cylinder. Test this out on a flat parking lot. With the car stopped, foot off the brake, clutch pedal down, gear in 1st, if the car sort of creeps forward either the slave or master cylinder is internally leaking.
