Default Computer People: Weird Sound Problems

So just about every day for the past few months I lose all sound on my computer and it's really pissing me off...do I need a new sound card or something? Sometimes it'll take many hours for it to stop working and sometimes a couple days but it always just gives out. Help

control panel > system > hardware tab > device manager > look for device right click properties > reinstall driver

once there you can also click on the driver tab for more driver options
