Default my steering wheel shudders at 70mph

hey guys, quick question

ive noticed that when i drive at ~70mph my steering wheel shudders like mad. it only does this when im goin anywhere between 67-73mph. anything above or below that and its perfectly fine

i have no idea why this is. do you think its from how the tires were mounted on my new rims? or do you think its something else? im gonna be driving a lot of highway miles in about 2 weekends from now so i wanna get this checked out soon. its freakin annoying. wasnt sure how serious or easy to fix it would be. help me pleeeeeease thanks, doods

not yourself. But ... it shouldn't be more than $30 in labor for all 4's.

what they do is mount the tire on an electronic spinner and place weights where needed to make sure the rim is at an even centrifugal force.

either that or a weight clip wasn't secured properly and fell off. :hs:

but what you're saying sounds just like a balance issue.

The higher the speed they balance it the smoother it'll be. So ask for a highspeed balance and make sure they spin it up to 10k rpm to do the balance.
