a live video screen will pop up of downtown lower Manhattan and where the World Trade Center's used to be. In their place are two blue lights shining HIGH into the NYC sky, its pretty cool.

i dont think they do.. itd prolly be quite the electric bill

Nah they don't keep it on for long because it's expensive to keep on. I live like 20 mins from the city and i go to the piers to check it out once in a while.......the $500,000 project uses 88 searchlights arranged in 50-foot squares at a site near the northwest corner of the trade center plaza. they usually keep it on at night for like a month or couple weeks after the aniversary or special occasions. usually its kept on by big company donating money for the electricity to keep it on. they started doing this back in 2002 i believe

its on a fair amount. i'm usually hammered as fuck when i go to the city though, so i could be wrong.

I believe they put it on at dusk n shut em off around 11 pm

I live about 4 miles from ground 0 I can see it no prob... they are on once in a while... deff not all the time!!!
