TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LINCOLN IL 558 PM CDT MON SEP 11 2006

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LINCOLN HAS ISSUED A
* TORNADO WARNING FOR... SOUTHERN FULTON COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
* UNTIL 645 PM CDT.
* AT 558 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO...8 MILES WEST OF LEWISTOWN...MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 25 MPH.
* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... LEWISTOWN... DUNCAN MILLS... BERNADOTTE...
ADDITIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS...CAPABLE OF PRODUCING TORNADOES...IS LIKELY IN THE WARNED AREA.
WHEN A TORNADO WARNING IS ISSUED BASED ON DOPPLER RADAR...IT MEANS THAT STRONG ROTATION HAS BEEN DETECTED IN THE STORM. A TORNADO MAY ALREADY BE ON THE GROUND...OR IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP SHORTLY. MOVE INDOORS AND TO THE LOWEST LEVEL OF THE BUILDING. STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. IF DRIVING...DO NOT SEEK SHELTER UNDER A HIGHWAY OVERPASS.
REPORT ANY SEVERE WEATHER OR DAMAGE TO YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGER...OR THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY...FOR RELAY TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE. ...THIS WARNING REPLACES THE PREVIOUSLY ISSUED TORNADO AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS FOR FULTON COUNTY.

If I live in the midwest I'm so building a huge ass bomb shelter for myself and one of my friends.

lol, luckily my room is in the basement, kinda worried about the rents though, i dont even know where they are

We all know the safest place to be in a tornado is in your car or strapped to a cow, so go searching!

Yea. I'm nursing a sick (expensive) fish back to health. It's breathing okay and coming back....then the power goes off. When it comes back on, he's dead. Damn it!

Bleh...tornadoes aren't that scary at all. I have been through several and they are also easy to outrun since they rarely travel much faster than 40mph or so.

they are in the FIT i doubt they can go faster than 40 mph :chuckles:
