Default Alternator??

i started up my car today and a bunch of lights on the dash came on and stayed on... the battery light, the brake light, all my doors were "open" and my brake lamp light was on. i stopped at the local garage and they said its probably the alternator, are they right?

car is a 98 accord v6 coupe if that matters...

Anyway...pick up an alternator from advance auto or autozone for $150 or so and put it in yourself. It's really easy to do and I'm sure there are many threads with instructions in the Accord forum. Takes maybe a couple hours if you've never done any work on the car before.
