I just hate how everyone makes Run And McDaniels sound like washed up has beens when in fact they retired at the top of their game with several multiplatinum albums. Not to mention every kid in the 80s had a copy of Tougher than Leather sitting in their room and probably wore that shit out.

Sorry I left out Jam Master Jay (R.I.P) who probably had the single most influence over the DJs coming out of that era with his innovative style second only to Afrikaa Bambata (sp?) or Cool DJ Herc in their respective categories and styles.
