Its in the pacific and it if you look it's path its been in the pacific since it was a depression.

i was looking at ernesto's map.

i guess left 1/2 of pacific = typhoon, right 1/2 = hurricane :hsdunno:

hurricane is a classification on the stats of the storm, not where it's located.

pacific = typhoon
Atlantic = hurricane


clarification.. eatern pacific = hurricane while werstern pacific = typhoon.

west of a certain longitude they are typhoons (and north of the equator). sometimes you can actually get a storm that changes names as it crosses that boundary. south of the equator, they're called cyclones. john is still on the side where they're called hurricanes.
