Default I have an insurance question.

Lets say my mom got into a car accident, wasnt her fault. She wasnt driving her own car though. My mom is insured on her own car. The car that hit her is insured also. The car my mom was driving is insured by their owners.

Now, what is suppose to be done? Does my moms insurance company need to be notified?

I would expect so. She would be covered by her own insurance even if it wasn't her car.

she would be covered by her own insurance, but expect her premium to possibly go up... best bet would be to file through the other person's.

If she's the driver, I believe it should go through her insurance.

Hmmm, I would like to avoid having even her insurance company find out. I am afraid of them somehow increasing the premiums.

 Waiting for Edday. h:

No. Both cars had damage though. Other person already admitted to fault.....although its a no brainer since he ran a stop sign.

A police report needs to be filed, and the claim should be processed through the driver at fault's insurance company.

Police report was made. ANd yea, I figure that the driver at fault has to report it. But I heard somewhere that if the car had more than so and so damage...then it must be reported to the other party's insurance. Now, that other party....it is the car's insurance or my mom's.
