yes the Jetta TDI will infact get 45mpg on the highway. a friend of mine has one.

mine gets 43.5mpg combined city/hwy driving 75-80mph on the hwy, chipped(see sig)

the bird also told me that you can reach 220 or so torque with simple mods/chip
