eh.... the only thin i know about subi's is that A) the shifter bushing is a b.i.t.c.h. to get off on a new legacy GT.... and B) if they rock a hood scoop it makes me thing they have a turbo

 

I went from a 5 speed VW GTI to an automatic Civic and I missed it a lot. After 2 years I just bought a 5 speed Civic and I'm glad I have a manual again. Impreza 2.5's in the years you are looking are very hard to find, but I would be patient because you want to be happy with your car. Good luck on your decision!

 

In your case, driving fast was nowhere as important as looking fast.

So you should be just fine.
