:nervous: Say you're joking. It all depends. Size, color, detail, and if you want a good job or not. Good artists will charge alot more, typically, because thats what they are, an artist. You wouldn't pay 100 bucks for a painting and expect it to be top notch, you'd pay alot more.

Where abouts on your thumb? On the pads, the ink won't hold. Same with inner lips. Those only last a few months(From what I've heard).

i got 2 that size, and my GF has 4 and thats about an average price... of course the more intricate the higher it goes up

 

i paid 100 for my umbrella and 75 for my lettering.

 

I know a few people that went to decent artists and they got a smaller tattoo for about that or more. I guess it also depends on your location, but expect to pay alot. I'd rather pay alot more for a little higher quality, because it will be on you for life.

 

Also, you're expected to tip 10-15%, more if you're getting a big project done.

I am really thinking about getting one.....but my skin is bad on the arm...I have those fawking rashes that a lot of Asian people get...I guess I shouldn't complain since I never break out on the face LOL

 

I have that stuff too on my upper arms. It's not too bad. I actually went to the body art expo today that was held near/in san francisco. Got another one. It's soo freakin' addicting. Anyway, like what people said, it all depends where you go, where you're located, and how intricate the design; especially one of them custom jobs. Around 100 to 200 bucks is the norm for what a lot of people usually get as their first tat.

I heard of someone that got a 300+ tat and tipped 100. She had a huge tattoo going on her back and others later.


I'm not sure if I want a tattoo. I do, but I'm not sure what to get. I'm thinking something celtic. I want a celtic knot, a smaller one, but too many people have them. I was thinking perhaps something with the Welsh dragon or the Welsh flag. Not sure.. I'd have to think for a long time on it and make sure I really want it.
