Taking it too far
i am not arguing with you... just that the majority of people think it's a loss. just search and you will that most "rules of 8 ball" consider it a loss. those are the generally accepted rules i guess

"I scratched, and all I have left is the 8-ball!" If you scratch in any way described above, and you only have the 8-ball left to sink, then you lose. We're terribly sorry. Because this can be incredibly frustrating, novices may want to eliminate this rule until they get better.
It was hard to tell...as the night went on he got more and more serious about it...even as we were in the parking lot leaving he was still making comments about it...saying stuff like "oh, scoreboard, we whooped your ass", etc...and all I said was "hey whatever makes you feel better man."
Ever have friends that take their shit talking too far? I was at the local sports pub tonight playing pool with a few buddies and one of my buddies just talks shit way too much. For example, I had him beat with 5 of his balls on the table and on my last shot, I scratched on the 8 ball and he "won". He goes on and on about how he's so awesome and how he won that game...the dumbass still had 5 balls on the table and had nothing to do with me losing.
I just hate when friends take a friendly game and turn it into something that almost isn't even fun.
