Want a quick and easy way to make your game better and drop strokes? It's simple when it comes to your practice time. 99.9% of people buy a large bucket and spend an hour on the range aimlessly hitting ball after ball, rapid fire. Here's a way to practice so that you are always improving:

If you spend 1hr practicing at the range, your breakdown should be this:

30min hitting balls on the range
15min chipping/pitching
15min putting

The more time you spend on your short game, the easier it is to drop strokes. Putting makes up 43% of your total score on average, so that is the easiest way to improve your score.

When you are on the range hitting balls, practice with a purpose. Don't stand up there and rapid fire balls, do your normal pre shot routine for every ball as if you were on the course. Pick a target for every shot, so you have something to concentrate on. Instead of thinking "I just want to hit it straight" pick a target in the distance somewhere and try to hit it to that target. Some people don't pick targets and then think a shot they hit is good, when in reality it could be 10-20 yards away from where they were actually aimed.

If you really want help, I can try to help you as much as I can without having seen your swing. If you want drills for your short game, let me know.

public universities offer beginner, intermediate golf lessons in the summer. better to invest in a set of lessons to learn how to swing correctly then practice with the bucket of balls. it does no good to practice and reinforce bad form.

my golf game improved a ton the last two weeks i was home, which sucks, because now im at school, i dont have my clubs or my car, so i cant play. id have to pay for it too

get a job at a golf course next summer and you'll be able to play for free. i played at least 5 times a week during the summer. even if i just go out and practice on one hole for an hour, i dont have to pay a dime.

im thinking about playing club golf here

They have some niiiiice ass courses in Cortland.

And yeah, get a job at a golf course  Tough decision, golf course for $6/hr or co-op for $20/hr.
