Well as some of you know, I put new tires on the RSX-s a few weeks ago (General Exclaim UHP). I must say that they are performing above my expectations for them. I have put about 2500 miles on them so far. I had the pleasure of testing them in some very heavy rains today, and they were just that a real pleasure. Driving through standing water, some puddles as much as a couple inches deep they tracked well and I felt no signs of hydroplaning, even when hitting a deep puddle on one side or the other of the road the car didn't pull much either. When I was on the expressway they handled standing water very well at speeds that were faster than I should have been driving for the conditions. They are not as good as the GS-D3's that I previously had on the car, but they are awfully damn close. Dry pavement it's only at the extremes for street driving that they lag behind the GS-D3's. They are a bit noisy on certain roads, but so were the GS-D3's. The only area that they do out perform the GS-D3's is on dirt roads. Driving at speeds above 60 (I don't recommend this) they let me know what they are doing quite well. I haven't had any issues with them while I've been dodging potholes in the middle of curves on the dirt. If I had a better line of sight for oncoming traffic I could easily drive faster.
Overall I have to say they are a pretty good tire for the price, they offer good performance on a budget. (approx $125 per tire installed 225/45/ZR17 with replacement within 3 years or 3/32 tread) People just have to get over that they aren't the "in" name in tires, especially when it comes to performance.
Cost Breakdown from Discount Tire:
225/45/ZR17...$98.00 each X 4 = $392.00
Replacement Certs. ...4 X 13.00 = 52.00
Lifetime Spin Balance...4 X 11.00 = 44.00
Waste Tire Disposal fee 4 X 2.00 = 8.00
MI 6% Sales Tax.................. 23.52
Total $519.52

The Exclaims have their short comings when compared to the GS-D3's don't get me wrong. But they are considerably cheaper, and had I had the extra money the GS-D3's would have been back on again, I'm presently still on SSI disability and that's less than a 1/5 of what I was making when I was doing kitchen and bath remodeling. I originally got them when I ordered new wheels from Tirerack, and they only cost me 150 per tire installed on the wheels (Kosei Racing K-1) I ordered at the same time. Locally they would have cost me 175 plus 11 plus whatever the lifetime treadwear etc so it would have been at least 200 per tire plus the sales tax which would have been another 50. As it was wheels and tires at that time cost me a total of 1260.00 including shipping to my door.

Yeah, it's tough for a tire to get a good review when it's not a name that everyone knows for performance.
