how do you put it out there without somebody just stealing it and screwing you? i have this awsome idea for a website. Its probably been done before or its just lame but I keep thinking about it.

don't you need all this shit and some sort of prototype for a patent?
do those even apply to websites?

just saying patent pending doesn't mean shit. also you have do a search if you are serious and make sure someone else didnt' already patent the idea/whatever.

btw you can't just patent an idea you need usage, etc.

 

I don't know what the term is, but there are people out there that buy the patents for things they NEVER intend to make. Someone comes along one day, makes the same thing, and get sued by the first party for violating their patent. I don't know how they do it, but people are getting away with it. I would first see if the idea is even around, and sitting waiting for someone like you to pounce on. :hs:

there is nothing wrong with doing that. same way people buy website names and then sell it to others for millions of dollars.

 

I'm most certainly not saying I have a problem with it. It's just that I would hate to for a HAN'er to get screwed like that.

 

you have to file a patent for the idea with usage.
