Default 2nd chance offer on ebay

so i placed a bid on a dell 700m and the auction ended last night. my max bid was 877, and it sold for 930. i got an email today with a 2nd chance offer to purchase at my high bid price.. 877+ actual shipping.

2ghz processor
1gb ram
80gb hdd
8x dvdrw
xp pro
wireless abg
22 months remaining on warranty
carrying case
all manuals, cables, cds, etc
8cell Lithium ion battery

whatcha think?

I hate the second chance offers, another way to weasel money out of you.
But sounds like a good deal man. I mean, that was your bid in the first place

the seller just emailed me directly. he said the original winner couldn't pay. he said he'd cover the shipping, so it'll just be $877 shipped. i think im gonna do it.

Tell him to set up a private auction and for you to buy it through Ebay that way. Otherwise you can easily get ripped and Ebay cant do anything.

Unless this "2nd chance" thing is something that Ebay does h:

it could just be a scam on his end just to get more money.
that $930 bid could've been a someone helping him get more $$ out of the auction
