i know a friend that does the following:
follow the manufacture recommended break in procedure to the T. then once that is over, he takes it to the track (road course) and drives the piss out of it.

he did the same with over 10 cars and his cars consitently dyno at a higher hp than other cars.

 

i did the full throttle accelerations at around 200 miles...a bit late

 

I did full throttle accel at 80 miles. Seems to be running fine

 

you lost 1000 miles from your engine's life

FWIW aircraft piston engines do the full throttle break in :dunno:

 

i just rebuilt my engine, good info for me
