Assault rifle ban have been lifted for a long while. It just really doesnt apply in California. "Assualt rifles" are still illegal here.

:dunno: They can be registered assault rifles, which would make them legal for use (but I dont think those can be rented out. Or it could be that not all AR or AKs are assault rifles. In Cali "assault rifles" define rifles with a list of characteristics, not always by a make or model.
