Default Insurance...

How much more do you think a Tacoma would cost insurance wise over an Si. Here are the details of both cars...

#1 04 Honda Civic Si 25k miles blue 5 spd manual FWD, ABS

#2 03 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 44k miles green 4 spd auto 4x2 ABS

Going to ask for a quote tommorow when I get a chance. If I trade it in it'd be the same payments for a truck instead of a Civic that gets broken into once every 3 months Not sure how often Tacomas are stolen but I do know how often Civic's are broken into

Forgot to add. The 4 times it's been broken into I've fixed it myself rather than go through insurance. They don't even know I live down here since I am originally from WA.

then that means the 4 times arent even on your claim history. not that it would make much of a difference if it was, but yeah.

What I don't understand is my dad wants full coverage yet whenever something comes up with theft he tells me I have to fix it with my own money. But oh well I pay for the damages and he does pay for the insurance :dunno: I'm just tired of being worried if the car will be in my driveway or not the next day. This is so frustrating since I did used to love the car :wtc: I am hoping a Tacoma will be less of a target for theft since it is just a truck :dunno:

if the cause is by "theft/vandalism/fire/etc." aka "other than collision," then your insurance company will cover the damages fully, minus your deductible. so depending on how much the damage is and how much your deductible is, it may or may not be worth reporting.

and the term "full coverage" is abused and overly vague. depending on who your agent is, he/she may or may not pull a fast one on you just to get you a "good deal" on the premium cost.

Progressive shows that the price will be about $20/month. I think it'll be worth it. Now off to try to get my dad to approve of it
