yeah you are gonna want to get some stuff...the kit from canon does not have memory cards with them..usually its the shop/retailer that makes a bundle for them

I've been using this camera all summer. I like it a lot. I still only have the lens that came with it. I'm still learning how to use it. It will be out of his price range though.

how much out of the price range? how much did you pay? I thought I had seen them on sale at various places.

Welll, I just looked up prices at pricegrabber.com. It says the prices are 594.99-833.39. Mine is the black bodied model which seems to go for slightly more than the silver body.

When I got mine, I believe there was a $150 rebate also. I don't know how much it was because it was a gift. I built a computer for my parents business and they gave me the camera as a thank you. (they are professional photographers)
