Is window tint a primary or secondary law?
Can they pull you over, simply because they think your tint is to dark? I've been searching the web, and can't find the answer. I found where my state is 32% all around on a car, but can't find if it's a primary or secondary law. I thought they could only give you a tint ticket if they pulled you over for something else also.
Yup. I've been pulled over twice for window tint ON THE SAME CAR. I followed the ruling on the first and had the front two windows retinted to 35%. Then, two years later, the same bike cop pulled me over and gave me another ticked for the rears being too dark. I had them also redone to 35% and went to court both times. I almost had to pay an additional fine because the second judge was going to add it on for my not redoing it all the first time. Needless to say, each ticket was about $130 and were not reduced even though I replaced the tint. Short answer, yes, they can pull you over just for tint. :a:
the problem that plaugues many of us with dark interiors is the tint looks darker than usual.
it's the reason i haven't tinted my windows, even at 35% they'll look like 20% on a car with a light interior. so i'm bound to get pulled over.
