I'm wanting to get a small hookah pipe when I get back to college. I don't want to spend much money and I want a case or a bag for it. I would like it to smoke well. I'm not sure what brands would be cheap and decent still. 1 or 2 hose, either really. I want to buy it online since we have few smoke shops here that would have cheap pipes.

i love hookah... if you have any friends who ever go to the middle east have them pick one up for you... i have a couple jewish friends and they went to israel and picked up hookahs for like $3. Same stuff they sell here for like $50...

from my experience, no matter what brand you get or how much you pay, smaller hookahs just dont perform well. you said that you want it to "smoke well", but if its small, there won't be a very large chamber for the smoke to build, so you'll get thin smoke or harsh smoke (the latter attributed to pulling for the tobacco to burn, instead of letting the hookah do its job. this usually happens when you have the former, because no one wants thin smoke, so you pull harder).

i guess my question to you would be what is "mini" in your mind? i've seen 1ft hookahs to 12ft hookahs.
