Hard Drive help! Seagate Barracuda
Shopping for hard drive to build in an external hdd enclosure, but don't know which to pick between 1) Seagate 7200.8 300gb and 2) Seagate 7200.10 250gb. here's what's holding me up:
1) Seagate 7200.8 300gb
- larger capacity BUT older technology since it's 7200.8 and NOT 7200.10.
2) Seagate 7200.10 250gb
- 50gb less, but 7200.10 (which has perpendicular recording on each plate)
so, is it worth sacrificing 50gbs for technology? or is technology worth sacrificing for extra 50gbs? keeping in mind this is for mobile storage and not a resident drive in a desktop. Both are $90. TIA.

Just ask yourself what you are going to be doing with it, and if you really care about the technology.
If you are going to be using it alot and have alot of stuff you are going to put on it, music, movies, pics id just go with the 300gb
If you just want the hardrive to tell your Girlfriend "I have the SEAGATE BARACUDA 250 gb with perpendicular recording on each plate" then go for that, honestly i dont think you will even realize the difference so i would go for the 300gb but thats just my 2 cents
