Default WTF Nissan

Just bought a 2002 Sentra SpecV 3 days ago and i have been reading up extensively on how many serious design flaws this cars engine has. Everything from nuts on the throttle body coming loose to chunks coming off of the precat and killing the engine (supposedly precat failure is a problem that has not been resolved for all specV model years and one of the reasons Nissan has halted sales of spec V's this year). WTF!

I was slightly alarmed but was in a bit of denial since the car felt perfect and the motor was running strong... until today. Went to my car to go home today after having dinner with some friends and as soon as i turn the key the engine starts limping and the check engine light goes off. Get out of the car to check out what kind of sounds are coming from the car and the exhaust is popping with the limping engine as if it wasn't running on all 4 cylinders. h:

Returning the car tomorrow and raising hell on them selling me a lemon.

Pitty Nissan did such a shitty job on the QR25 engine found in the Spec V. Over all the car felt great, handled well, and very comfy. LSD, 6spd, and the torque made this car a pleasure to drive. MF'n Nissan. h: [/rant]

Anyone have any suggestions for a car in the $11,000 range? Currently looking at 2001+ Infinity g20's with the trusty sr20de.

h: The price was right and I have family that have owned Nissans that were very solid. I'm pretty open to most Japanese makes except Mazda and Mitsubishi but i was really interested in a G20 or 98-99 Acura CL 2.3 since its semi-luxury with a 4 cyl.

The spec V's torque is what suckered me in since I've been in a Civic for so long. :hs:

Maybe you should have researched the car before you bought it.

Yea, you should have researched it before you bought it. Should be fine though. A buddy of mine had one..I think it might have been an 03. But the mass air flow sensor went out twice within a few months
Is your shifter super loud? Thats how his was...so annoying!
