If CA is anything like Indiana though, take the MSF class to get your full license, it is a pain in the ass to take the skills test, but in the class it's super easy and they tell you exactly what you need to do. Well worth the $75 it cost. And you usually get an insurance discount.
I am taking the course as stated multiple times above. The cost in CA for the course is $225 if over 21 and $150 if under since you have to take the course if you are under 21.

$250 if you're over 21. I took mine a couple days short of my 21st bday and only paid $75 :fawk:

You guys have to take a test for your permits???

Usually i go to the DMV and they handed me the permit. I then enrolled in the course and they passed me...
