Default Car Troubles

1989 CRX Si.
I was teaching my friend how to drive a little stick and after a while we took it onto a larger deserted road. He was in second, clutch in, shifted into 3rd, clutch out and it started bucking a little so he gave it more gas, but nothing happened. He pulled over and when he stopped the lights came on that come on when it stalls(Batt and oil?). I go to start it again but no luck. Its turning over(So its not the starter) but won't start. If you keep the key turned for a while it sputters a bit and it sounds like a sheet of metal getting shook back and forth kinda. I don't know if its the fuel pump. I think it has enough gas. Gas gauge says 3/8s full with 239 miles(About right I guess. Maybe a little high of miles)

What should I look for? Could it be flooded? We pushed it 8 blocks to his house then tried it again(15 minutes?) and same effect. I'm going back tomorrow morning to put in more gas and try it again.

Fuel injection doesn't flood.

Make sure you have gas in it. Go fill a 5 gallon jug and put it in there.

I'm going to take a quart or two of oil over as well as some gas and check it out.
I'm hoping its something simple like that.
I didn't think FI flooded, but wasn't certain.
I don't know if the fuel pump was working, I'm not sure what it sounds like or anything.

when you turn the key to the ON position, you should hear a short humming noise coming from the rear of the car. that's the fuel pump engaging.
it may be hard to hear, but i think CRX's have it under the rear seat like newer civics do.

make sure the screw that holds the rotor on is tight. Check for corrosion on the cap/rotor. Usually the cap/rotor stop working due to a weak electrical connection so its not something that will be blatantly obvious to the untrained eye.

Okay.
I'm going to try to get my neighbor with a trailer to tow it back to my house if I can't figure it out there. AAA won't tow it this far away.

I do miss not having anything wrong with my teg.. I saw a teg that looked like mine yesterday and I got a little sad. IBItsA17YearOldCar
