Alright, ive got a laptop that ive had for a while. it has a wireless card. worked fine.

i go into starbucks to use their wireless internet and it doesnt work. i got to panera and firehouse coffee and doesnt work there either. i go to a friends house who has wireless and it works.

now its worked before in starbucks/panera/firehouse coffee. did i do something wrong? no settings were changed since last time i was in one of those places.

any ideas?

 

what do you mean by it doesnt work?

do you see starbucks/panera/firehouse broadcasting?

can you connect to them?

do you get an ip?

 

sorry, i didnt explain it very well....

their signal isnt even showing up in my network connections. i asked each place if their wireless was working and they said yes.

i dont get anything, no ip, no connection.

 

hmmmm.....

in the wireless properties... make sure Use windows to configure..... is checked on
