I'm speechless.
I got a call this morning from my mom. The house I was renting from them before I bought mine a few months ago caught fire last night. It's been vacant since I moved out and I've been helping them out just about every weekend in fixing it up and removing old boxes and things from the attic. For the past day or two, it was getting the interior walls repainted and I believe the painters just finished yesterday.
My parents went out there yesterday evening to get it appraised in preparation of putting it up for sale. Then they get a call in the middle of the night by one of our old neighbors saying that it was on fire. I have yet to see it but I plan on stopping by on my way home this evening. They are still investigating on what caused the fire since no one knows yet. I'll keep you guys updated.

Yea it does suck. I'm just glad no one got hurt. We pretty much removed everything already so no valuables were burnt up in the fire. From what I heard, the siding on both houses beside it melted from the heat so I'm assuming it was a big fire.
it could be worse man, it really could.
If a house were to catch fire, the way yours happened is the best case.
1. nobody was in it, so nobody was hurt.
2. nothing valuable was lost. I mean .. wow .. house fire, you figure everything would be gone ... but no.
Insurance will fix it all.

Thats true. My mom feels the same way. I'm just still in shock that this happened to us. They were just a couple weeks short of putting it up on the market, now it may be a while to repair everything.
