there's lots more to it, but that's just the basics.

If you wanted something to mix live with ... like a dj console:
Traktor's DJ Studio.

If you had turntables and a mixer ... but are SICK of buying vinyl
http://www.rane.com/scratch.html

this thing is the shit.
use the laptop to feed songs into the Serato hub
the Serato hub feeds data to your exiting turntables
and you have intant vinyl control over MP3s.

no more record crates, no more cds ... just a laptop (and pray to god it doesn't crash)

check the demo

absolutely no pitch control.

You can do the same thing using Traktor's DJ Studio and a laptop.

OMG Serato is just what i was looking for :irock:

I don't condone it ... but you can get this for free via internet download methods.

Potential cost: $0

This is a full on mixing console.

It might be available somewhere on the internet, but the launch song for the new FruityLoops was done by a Blake Heary. The song is titled "Hanging On" and he did it completely with FL...pretty good song too.

traktor + timecoded vinyls for the win.

If you were given a choice to save the universe from destruction or die and be sent to hell with the love of your life... which one would you choose?
